Mets reliever Jorge López didn’t hold back about his feelings on the state of the Mets.
Following an ugly day at Citi Field where the Mets lost 10-3 and López was tossed from the game and chucked his glove into the stands, he then tore into the team in front of reporters, calling them “the worst team in probably the whole f–king MLB.”Lopez, who also will soon be designated for assignment, according to The Post’s Joel Sherman, also refused to express any regret over his outburst with his glove.
“I think I’ve been on the worst team in probably the whole f–king MLB,” López said. “Whatever happens, happens. Whatever they want to do. I’ll be here tomorrow if they want. Whatever they want to do. I’m going to keep doing this thing, so I’m healthy on whatever to do.
“I’m ready to come back tomorrow if they want me to be here, I’ll be here.”

Man thats terrible that his accent caused it to sound like he said the Mets are the worst team in baseball (Which they are based on the highest salaried team in MLB) 😂
He wants to get out of there and I can’t blame him
Lopez is right. The Mets are a train wreck.
Lopez is a joke. He's always laughing when he gives up Homers and chokes
He said “teammate”
Typical crybaby pitcher.
Why they fire Buck. So dumb.
I love the way he stands up to the obvious of questions. Most specifically, " do you 'want' to be here tomorrow? "
"yeah, I'll be here tomorrow"
Update: You will NOT be here.
And, A Yankee fan catches it to boot. Gotta love it.
Who is this guy, are you serious. He should never play another baseball game again in the MLB with that attitude. What an embarrassment, regardless or frustrations and emotions.
The Mets love managers who speak English as a second or third language.
Lopez gets blasted for speaking the truth about how bad the Mets are meanwhile Steve Cohen talking crap about how the Mets are a playoff team. But as usual it’s the guy who speaks the truth who gets blasted and the guy who feeds you crap and fluff who gets away with it.
New generation….full of proud…weak…he doesnt deserve to be part of any mlb team
100 % of weakness and proud…no respect
Does a big payroll make a good team?……….nooooooo
He very clearly said “teammate”. Trying to say he knows others were embarrassed by his actions.
Hope he lands on his feet somewhere…

YANKEES 4EVER🥰💪🏽
Lindor calling for a team meeting while batting around .200 might seem hypocritical, much like Yankees fans defending Mendoza despite his lack of Major League playing experience. It's unreasonable for Lindor to accept guidance from a manager who's akin to a swimming coach who has never been in the water. Fire Mendoza right now
Hmmmm….I wonder if he had considered that the reason his team sucks is because he doesn't care?
The Mets are not the worst team. That would be the Royals.
As a Mets fan am not surprised of these types of things going on and the team is playing terrible no heart ❤️ at all!!!! starting with the Mets manager he’s the one to blame for their downfall this year so far he doesn’t have no game plan or strategy and the team can’t hit for nothing and of course the pitching staff are not going to be happy it’s a long season just to try win every game by 1 or 2 runs not a way to help your pitching staff.
He didn’t say that.
He's not wrong though
They fired Buck for this ??
Yeah he said “I’ve been looking like the worst teammate in the MLB”. Clickbaity nonsense and potentially ending a dudes career is crazy
Hes right mets suck Everybody Knows That😂😂😂
Dude is a scrub from dirty PR. The end 😂
He said teamate
He was right. That’s what pissed the Mets off. How do you go from winning over 100 games and then spend a lot of money on f.a. and get so much worse?
this title is slander. clearly there was a language barrier during that interview. he said and meant " I am the worst teammate in baseball right now. " imagine going to a country where they speak a different language and people ask you on camera to describe your emotions. that sounds horrible. the media is doing a pathetic job at portraying the truth. what a surprise
Clearly Jorge Lopez speaks English as a second language, and maybe one of his Spanish speaking teammates should have joined him on the interview, and maybe done it in Spanish.
Lopez was wrong in his actions, but I suspect his responses to the questions would have been different in Spanish.
