Heading out for dinner groceries. Got some good stuff! What’s that? Squid with skin, 250 yen including tax. 250 yen? Cheap! Squid is usually expensive, isn’t it? Today’s treat. Nice! How much do you think a pack of udon noodles cost? 30 yen? 17 yen. Cheap! Amazing.

I wonder how much it costs to make udon. Is there a profit? Heading from Sunmatagawa in Shizuoka to Akame 48 Waterfalls in Mie. We came for a rematch since we couldn’t reach Akame 48 Waterfalls last time. It was about an 8-hour drive… It’s cold. Should we close the door, Chibi?

For now, I’ll sit there. Chibi likes high places, so… It’s cold. Yeah, it’s cold today too. Bota, are you okay? Save your energy for tomorrow. We’re going all the way tomorrow. It seems quite challenging, so… Chibi and Bota have plenty of energy. It wasn’t that tough when we went partway, right?

It was like that, but we ran out of time. Akame 48 Waterfalls is quite a distance if we go all the way. Tired… it was far. It was far. Let’s have dinner. Please. Let’s eat and rest for tomorrow. Let’s go to bed quickly. Having running water is so convenient…!

Should I put all the enoki mushrooms? Yeah, let’s eat them all. Sure. Looks delicious. I’ll set aside some for Chibi and Bota before seasoning. Let’s share. It’s quite challenging to make elaborate homemade food, you know? Just some toppings, though. Amazing, it hasn’t melted at all. Really? Look. It’s true. Isn’t it amazing? Incredible.

The best. Isn’t it amazing that the ice lasts for 5 days? Amazing. Incredible. Chibi and Bota, sorry to keep you waiting. Chibi: “What’s this?” Looks delicious. It looks delicious, and it warms you up. Hot pot is the best after all. Especially in winter. Cheers to Akame 48 Waterfalls at night. Delicious! Tasty.

The alcohol seeps in gently. Cheers. Hot pot is definitely the best. Delicious. Tasty! Feels just like home. Just like home! The Hiace is really big. Big. The range of movement inside the car is limited. So, surprisingly comfortable to live in.

Traveling around Japan in the Hiace might have changed our perspective on the world. Absolutely, it definitely did. But you know, having started with a compact car, we truly appreciate the value of the Hiace. There’s a whole different world that opens up when you’ve experienced it in a compact car. Yeah, that’s for sure.

But maybe the world we couldn’t see is a world we’re better off not seeing. From the perspective of others. Maybe it’s better not to know. Cabbage is tasty, isn’t it? Cabbage is delicious. Why is cabbage so delicious? Maybe it’s my favorite leafy green. When the temperature drops suddenly, my respiratory condition worsens.

Ryo-chan, you have a weak throat and nose. She has asthma. In winter, you often have to blow your nose. Yeah, I have rhinitis. Ryo-chan is quite frail, huh? Physically weak. More than being extremely weak, it’s more like being weak in everything on an average level.

Ryo-chan got the flu at the end of the year. I thought I would get it too, but I didn’t. Amazing, right? Amazing, right? Considering we were in such close quarters together, using the same things. We even shared some items. Really amazing.

Yuta-san also mentioned, but when you look it up, the chance of transmitting the flu is 10%. Isn’t that really low? Subtracting that 10% is impressive, right? I mean, pulling out that 10% from people you barely know. Shall I add some udon? Isn’t 17 yen cheap? It’s cheap. What a shock.

Until recently, that was the usual price, I remember. It’s been a while since I saw 17 yen. I wonder how much of this 17 yen is the cost price? I’m really curious. Which makes me think about the udon we usually eat. I worry if the producers are really making a profit.

It’s a concern. It might be presumptuous to worry. Is it okay? It looks fluffy and delicious. It’s hot!!! Did the broth splash? Excuse me, excuse me. I was surprised… To come from the first time… The udon is full. Please, help yourself. Ryo-chan, you like udon, right? Yeah, I love udon. Eat a lot.

Thank you. Eating udon with Ryo-chan brings back two memories. What? One is that, right? It’s not Kagawa Prefecture’s udon anyway? Yeah, Kagawa Prefecture’s udon. The one that made us so sleepy. The other one is Sane-san Udon. Why? Because it felt like we always went in whenever we saw Sane-san Udon.

Sane-san Udon was so delicious. I didn’t know Kyushu had delicious udon. I was quite happy. They say the taste of udon in Kansai and udon in Kanto differs in the broth, right?

I’ve been living in Kansai for a long time, but around 25 years old, I went to Tochigi and lived there for 4 or 5 years… I don’t think I ever had udon at a restaurant in Tochigi. When I returned to Osaka and had udon, I thought, “Was it this delicious?”

The udon in Kansai? I made and ate udon myself, though. I see. I still think Kansai udon is delicious. So, does that mean I’ve made enemies with people from East Japan now? It’s a matter of preference! It’s like the taste of one’s hometown. A matter of preference, you say…?

But if you’re coming from the Kanto region… What is it? From the Kanto region? When heading towards Kansai by car or something, even in Mie, it’s delicious. At service areas in Mie or places like that, I want you to try udon. Especially people from Kanto, please.

Not just Kanto, but also people from Tohoku and Hokkaido. I think you’ll notice the difference in taste. Honestly, I’m not from Tokyo. Concepts like Kansai or Kanto don’t exist for me. Because delicious things gather from everywhere. That annoying person!! Really, such an annoying person!! Should I flip the pot over?

But don’t you understand the taste of udon? I don’t live in that dimension. I hate it! Haha. Get off. Haha. Goodbye. Haha. Let’s walk a different path from tomorrow. I’d rather leave it at Akame Shijuhattaki. I don’t want to be left behind. Hey, Chibi.

Chibi: “But the current flow of the conversation, Mom was picking a fight, though.” I have absolutely no intention of picking a fight. I understand. But, there are people who interpret it that way. Annoying. In front of me? Haha. So close. No way, no way. But, Ryo-chan took me to Kasu Udon, remember?

It was so delicious. Delicious, right? However, that too has mixed opinions, I guess? I think Kasu Udon has mixed opinions. Our mom doesn’t really like it. I think so too. Kasu Udon is a bit unique. It has a distinctive aroma. But, that’s Kansai’s udon. That’s not Kansai’s udon. No way.

No, it’s not. Haha. That’s not what I wanted to say. Kamukura, right? I really love Kamukura. I want to go. But I also started to like Tenri Ramen, in addition to Kamukura. It’s the Saika Ramen. Exactly, Saika Ramen. It’s incredibly delicious, right? Delicious, Saika Ramen.

It’s like they added a strong garlic kick to Kamukura. But, we tried both the regular store and the food stall for Saika Ramen. In the end, we realized that it’s better to eat slowly in the store. That’s right. The atmosphere is different. It was cold that day, you know.

But if it’s hot, it’s hot. Having a store is really appreciated. The atmosphere is nice though. Probably a newly hired staff member, a young man, brought the ramen with trembling hands. It must be hot, brother! That’s what I thought. He placed it with a vibe like, “Can I leave it for a moment?”

“Oh, please go ahead,” or something. (Laughs) Well, it’s quite tough. The scene is tough. It’s tough on-site. I want to eat Saika Ramen. This time, we passed through Nagoya and came through Yokkaichi. Oh, it’s TonTeki after all… I said that. I said it many times. That flavor is not easy to find elsewhere.

Can’t find it. There are many, but I think it’s quite delicious there. It was delicious, right? What was the name again? I forgot. Matsumoto Rairai Ken, was it? That’s right, that’s right. It would be nice to stop by on the way back. But Matsusaka chicken is hard to let go of.

Mie has delicious food, right? Yakitori. If there’s takeout, warm it up on the Multi-Griddle. That’s true. But with the Hiace, the range of things you can do has expanded. Including cooking, it has a built-in water supply. So it would be great if we could try local takeout and gourmet options. Sounds good.

Inside the car. Sounds good. For takeout items that can be eaten in the car, we need to start a little fire and cook something. We’ll start a fire and cook everything. Like seafood. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For something like good quality meat, let’s do it while camping. Let’s go with that. How about that?

Take a hot spring bath. Work during the day. Yeah, let’s do that, maintain a good balance. At night, move around. Let me sleep. Please, let me sleep. When it comes to working during the day… And traveling at night. It’s like Sparta. (laughs) I’m really counting on you. (laughs)

I was just saying earlier, talking about being physically weak. Physically weak, indeed. “I want to take a short nap today,” I said, and as a result, it turned into quite a long one. Silence, silence. So, there is some truth to having arrived. Hey, what do you think, Chibi? Chibi: “Yeah, that’s right.”

Chibi: “Are you guys okay?” Thank you. You’re welcome. I feel like it would be quite different if we didn’t eat rice at night. It’s healthy, you know. I had udon. (laughs) I didn’t need to say it. I was eating plenty of carbohydrates. No, no! It was far, Red-Eye Forty-Eight Waterfalls. Very far. Because it took about 8-9 hours from Sunomata Gorge, right? It did take a while. It was really far. I had one thing I wanted to do a little,

I wanted to buy a map of Japan. Buy a map of Japan and set a goal to visit campsites nationwide. Next goal. Mark something when you visit. Sounds good. Since the car has become more spacious. Let’s put a map of Japan around here. Really!? Put it around here? For real??

Let’s collect 47 pieces. Sounds good, but I guess putting it here is a no. Whaaat!? (laughs) I want to make the achievements clear. Those memorable things are good, right? Let’s do it. I’m sleepy. Should I sleep? Good night. Good night. Next morning. Ryochan. Ryochan? Wake up. The weather is bad today.

It was supposed to be good today. Really? It’s cloudy. Cute. Like a human. I’m sleepy. I’m sleepy. That’s normal for you. Even though we’ve been dealing with this for over 30 years, you still haven’t overcome it? Impossible. I see. I wonder when I’ll be in perfect condition. Perfect condition will never come.

Steady second sleep… Ahh, feels good. Revived. I have to do this every morning to wake up. You don’t do it every morning. Since I recorded it, I’ll do it every morning. Feels good. Really tense. Maybe because of the continuous driving. Really tense, and really sweaty… Maybe (laughs). It’s humid. Can you keep playing this video for about an hour? Sure, is it okay? Ouch!!! Ouch!!! Chibi: “What are you guys doing?”

Chibi-chan likes that spot. It’s close to the window. Chibi: “I like places where I can see outside.” Chibi: “Wake up soon.” I’m waking up. Thank you. Brush your teeth? I’ll brush my teeth. Thank you. You didn’t have to come. I can’t brush my teeth like this! Ready! Let’s go.

The water is incredibly clear. Indeed. Looks very deep. Scary. Nostalgic, though. It’s beautiful every time I come. Beautiful. It’s so soothing. Feels good. About 2 kilometers left to the end? Probably. When you hear 2 kilometers, it doesn’t sound that bad. Maybe I’ve been trained enough, the sensation. But I’m getting dull.

Talking about sensation? The sensation might be sharpened. Arrived at Karitanitaki. Located at the border of Nara and Mie. There might be no one coming to the border here, right? We were in Mie, and now we are heading to Nara from here? Probably, right? It’s amazingly beautiful. Oh no… It’s coming down…

Sleet is falling. Just a bit more. Whether we go forward or turn back, it’s sleet. After about 120 minutes one way, we finally arrived at the last waterfall of Akame Shijuhattaki, “Gankutsutaki.” We have arrived. Gankutsutaki. The last one. It took about 2 hours. It did. Just a bit… Gankutsutaki… It was like that…

If you really come to see… It would be enough to go to Karitanitaki or Nunoedaki. This area had a lot of moss, so… I wonder about Biwadaki’s water volume. That might be true. With this, we’ve completed our revenge. Let’s hurry back. It’s snowing. Let’s go, let’s go.

Safely completed our revenge, so we’re heading to Osaka. Thank you for watching until the end. Our next destination is Osaka’s “Shinsekai.”
