【ストーリー】
自ら命を絶った不幸な若き女性ベラ(エマ・ストーン)が、天才外科医ゴッドウィン・バクスター(ウィレム・デフォー)の手によって奇跡的に蘇生することから始まる。蘇ったベラは“世界を自分の目で見たい”という強い好奇心に導かれ、放蕩者の弁護士ダンカン(マーク・ラファロ)の誘いに乗り、壮大な大陸横断の冒険の旅へ出ていく。やがて貪欲に世界を吸収していくベラは、平等と自由を知り、時代の偏見から解き放たれていくのだった。
